                       THE NECESSITY OF HOPE

Hope has to do with expectation and anticipation. Hope looks for and expects favorable change to any situation at hand. Hope would be emblematic of a ray of light which shines in darkness and exposes those things that are not straightforwardly and visibly seen. Hope is like a scalpel in a doctor’s hand and with great precision he cuts away the diseased area that weakens and jeopardizes the physical life bringing restoration and vigor to a diseased body.   Hope encourages the discouraged heart to refuse to accept surrender but to lay hold and anchor the life to that which spawns determination, fortitude and strength of mind. Hope allows us to move forward as planned. Hope repudiates setbacks caused by awkward and at times impenetrable circumstances. Hope is like a friend that reaches out and gently grabs us by the hand and with a quiet confidence whispers into our souls that we are victorious and that we can do the difficult task that is placed before us.     When the heart is devoid of hope the light of the life vanishes and withdraws into obscurity; darkness also being dispersed into every area of our lives. When the heart is deficient of hope, as individuals, we become superficial in speech, in thought and in our daily practices. Hope creates change and makes difficult circumstances an altered favorable reality. Hope is what fuels our actions. Hope creates inconceivable possibilities.   Hope is needed desperately in our hearts, in our homes, in the workplace and within our communities. Let us be filled with hope and let us anticipate and expect favorable changes beginning with our own personal lives; especially when difficult, unexpected and unwelcomed events occur. Let us also be filled with hope for our fellow man, especially, when he is impervious, unyielding and impossible. Let us work in unison and in conjunction with God, being fueled and infused with hope. Let us expect and anticipate only the positive fruits which only hope brings. And even when the unexpected happens hope makes it possible for us to get up again. Let us remember that with God, who is hope, all impossibilities become very possible (Luke 1:37).

Walk This Way

The pathway of life is not always certain but the one who leads you down this, sometimes, uncertain path is always sure. He is confident in what He thinks and what He knows and has no doubt in what is right concerning you.

Have You Ever Been In Prison

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1-2

The great Apostle Paul in this passage of scripture encourages the believer’s heart that condemnation is no longer in affect for the child of God. Condemnation carries the idea of being sentenced, placed in a prison and punished. This type condemnation also carries the idea of a prisoner being placed on death row for future execution. A condemned prisoner has no hope except they get a “Governor’s Reprieve”. Except there is a governmental reprieve this condemned prisoner is without hope and will experience the unavoidable. The absence of hope leaves only isolation and the dread of that inevitable day. Because of Christ Jesus condemnation or the sentence of death has been lifted, “We have heard from the “Governor of Heaven”. Not only have we heard from the governor of heaven but we have been acquitted, exonerated, pardoned and forgiven. This acquittal is not based on our good deeds because all of us were truly guilty as charged (Romans 3:23) but this acquittal is based upon the finished work of Jesus Christ. The governor’s acquittal takes us out of a physical prison and God’s acquittal in Christ takes us out of a spiritual prison. This new life that we have in Christ Jesus brings freedom and liberty. This new life and liberty is not a license to live as we please but a protective barrier so that we might truly understand who He is and our purpose for being on this earth. So if Christ lives in you then you have passed from death to life, from conviction to exoneration, from punishment to a full pardon . . . so I’ll ask you again, have you ever been in prison or are you still there . . . Trust in Christ today.
